Corporate finance is where valuation, risk and financing meet real decisions. This course teaches the economic reasoning behind the models — and when their assumptions stop holding — across cost of capital, capital budgeting under uncertainty, capital structure, working capital, DCF and relative valuation, payout, M&A, LBOs and financial distress.
What you will be able to do
- Apply advanced time-value techniques consistently, including real versus nominal cash flows and irregular timing.
- Measure risk and return, estimate betas and understand what CAPM and factor models can and cannot tell you.
- Build a defensible cost of capital for the firm, its divisions and individual projects.
- Estimate incremental cash flows, resolve NPV/IRR conflicts and allocate constrained capital.
- Value uncertainty and flexibility with scenarios, simulation, decision trees and real options.
- Analyse capital structure and financing instruments and estimate an appropriate leverage range.
- Manage working capital and liquidity as value levers, including supply-chain finance.
- Build DCF and relative valuations, bridge enterprise to equity value and triangulate a valuation range.
- Evaluate payout policy, M&A synergies and deal structures, accretion and dilution, LBOs, restructuring and capital allocation.
