Flipkart Axis Bank Credit Card Review (2026)
Sources checked 30 September 2026 (Axis Bank documents) · sources
Quick verdict: The Flipkart Axis Bank Credit Card is best for flipkart & myntra shopping. It earns 5% Flipkart, 7.5% Myntra, with an annual fee of Rs 500 (waiver on Rs 3.5L spend). In practice its value tracks where you shop: Flipkart, Myntra and the uncapped 4% partner brands carry it, utility bills earn nothing, and the renewal fee is waived only above Rs 3.5 lakh of annual spend; see Our Analysis below.
Overview
The Flipkart Axis Bank Credit Card is one of India’s most popular co-branded cards, built for people who shop heavily on Flipkart and Myntra. For a low Rs 500 fee it returns strong cashback in those ecosystems plus a flat rate elsewhere.
Note that benefits were trimmed in recent updates (lounge access was removed and quarterly caps apply), so it is now best viewed as a focused shopping card rather than an all-rounder.

Our Analysis: Does the Flipkart Axis Card Pay for How You Shop?
Our analysisThe value of this card depends almost entirely on where you shop. It pays in three tiers: Flipkart, Cleartrip and Myntra at 5–7.5% with quarterly caps; a short list of partner brands at an uncapped 4%; and 1% on most other spends. Utility and telecom bills earn nothing at all.
1. The fee, the waiver and the break-even
- Issuer factThe Axis MITC lists a joining fee of Rs 500 + GST. On 1 October 2026 the Axis product page showed the joining fee as Nil under a limited-period offer. The Rs 250 Flipkart welcome voucher applies only to paid cards.
- Issuer factThe annual fee of Rs 500 + GST from the second year is waived when annual spends are greater than Rs 3,50,000. Rent, wallet-load and gift-card transactions do not count towards the waiver.
- CalculationWith GST the fee is Rs 590. It is recovered by Rs 11,800 of Flipkart spend a year at 5%, by Rs 14,750 of partner spend at 4%, or by Rs 59,000 of other spend at 1%.
- CalculationThe waiver needs more than about Rs 29,167 of counted spend a month. None of the three patterns below reaches it.
- Our analysisUnless you expect to spend more than Rs 3,50,000 a year on the card, plan on paying Rs 590 a year from the second year. For a regular Flipkart or partner-brand shopper the fee is covered quickly; for someone who mostly spends elsewhere, it takes Rs 59,000 of 1% spend.
2. Quarterly caps and large purchases
- Issuer factFlipkart and Cleartrip each earn 5%, and Myntra 7.5%, with a maximum of Rs 4,000 cashback per merchant per statement quarter. Quarters follow your statement date. In Axis Bank’s illustration, spend on a merchant after its cap is reached earns no further cashback.
- CalculationThe cap is reached at Rs 80,000 of Flipkart spend in a quarter, Rs 80,000 on Cleartrip, or about Rs 53,333 on Myntra.
- CalculationA single Rs 1,20,000 Flipkart purchase in one quarter earns Rs 4,000, not Rs 6,000: an effective 3.33%.
- Our analysisAt everyday levels the cap is far off: the first pattern below spends Rs 12,000 on Flipkart in a quarter, earning Rs 600. The cap matters for big-ticket buys such as phones or appliances, and for Cleartrip travel bookings.
3. Partners, exclusions and the gaps
- Issuer fact4% cashback, with no cap, on the preferred partners in the Axis list: Swiggy, Uber, PVR, FITPASS and Stoga. Axis says the list can change without notice.
- Issuer factNo cashback on Utility and Telecom, Education, Rent, Wallet load, Government services, Insurance, Gold and Jewellery, Fuel, Financial Institutions, cash advances and repayments. Gift cards and bridge, road and toll fees also earn nothing; Axis Bank restated this in a revision effective 28 August 2026.
- Our analysisBecause utility and telecom bills earn nothing, this card does not suit being your household bills card. For those bills, a card that rewards utility payments will do better.
4. Three illustrative spending patterns
AssumptionThese patterns were chosen by us to show how merchant mix drives the return. They are not averages. We assume all spend is eligible, no quarterly cap is reached, no Cleartrip spend, no welcome or activation benefits, and the statement is paid in full.
| Pattern | Monthly: Flipkart / Myntra / partners / other | Cashback a year | Annual spend | Renewal fee | Net a year (year 2 on) | Effective rate |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Flipkart and Myntra shopper | Rs 4,000 / Rs 2,000 / Rs 3,000 / Rs 8,000 | Rs 6,600 | Rs 2,04,000 | Payable (Rs 590) | Rs 6,010 | 3.24% |
| Swiggy and Uber regular | Rs 1,000 / Rs 0 / Rs 10,000 / Rs 10,000 | Rs 6,600 | Rs 2,52,000 | Payable (Rs 590) | Rs 6,010 | 2.62% |
| Mostly off-merchant spending | Rs 1,000 / Rs 0 / Rs 0 / Rs 20,000 | Rs 3,000 | Rs 2,52,000 | Payable (Rs 590) | Rs 2,410 | 1.19% |
CalculationThe first two patterns earn the same Rs 6,600 from very different merchants, because the 4% partner tier is uncapped. The third, with most spending off the listed merchants, returns 1.19% before the fee.
5. Who it suits, and when a different card fits better
- Our analysisIt suits people who shop on Flipkart or Myntra most months and also use Swiggy or Uber, and who want cashback credited automatically.
- Our analysisIf most of your card spending is on bills, groceries in stores, fuel or rent, a general cashback or rewards card can return more, because this card pays 1% or nothing on those spends.
- Issuer factComplimentary lounge access was withdrawn from this card on 20 June 2025.
- Our analysisIf you plan one large Flipkart purchase, the quarterly cap limits the return, so compare the cashback with any instant bank offer on the purchase itself.
CalculationMethod: fees include 18% GST (fee × 1.18). Break-even spend = fee including GST ÷ reward rate. Effective rate = rewards in a year ÷ eligible spend in that year. Rewards are shown gross; net figures subtract the fee only in the years it is payable. Rates, caps, fees and exclusions are taken from the issuer documents listed below; the patterns are assumptions.

How much cashback does the Flipkart Axis card give?
5% on Flipkart and Cleartrip, 7.5% on Myntra (each capped at Rs 4,000 per quarter), 4% uncapped on preferred partners like Swiggy and Uber, and 1% on other eligible spends.
Does the Flipkart Axis card still offer lounge access?
No. Complimentary domestic lounge access was discontinued from 20 June 2025, so it is now a shopping-focused card.
Is it worth the Rs 500 fee?
For regular Flipkart and Myntra shoppers, the cashback easily covers the Rs 500 fee, which is also waived on Rs 3.5 lakh of annual spend.
Before You Apply
Its value depends on where you shop: 5% at Flipkart and Cleartrip and 7.5% at Myntra, each capped at Rs 4,000 of cashback per statement quarter, plus an uncapped 4% at Swiggy, Uber, PVR, FITPASS and Stoga. Most other spending earns 1%, utility and telecom bills earn nothing, and the Rs 500 + GST renewal fee is waived only above Rs 3.5 lakh of annual spend, so the card pays its way only if a meaningful share of your spend goes to those merchants. Pay each statement in full: interest on a carried balance can quickly exceed the cashback earned.
